History: Wall 2 Wall was devloped under the Metropolis Laboratory 2007 & 08, and under a residency at Sophiensaele, Berlin

In the summer of 2007 the Copenhagen based theatre company TeaterKUNST decided to research the meaning of walls today – in a personal, political and commercial sense.

TeaterKUNST became Artists in Residence at Sophiensaele in Berlin – the former city of the wall. Here they sold off the walls of this prestigious but decaying theatre at an auction in order to save its history. Later that year the company made a poetic and passionate comment on the exclusion of artists from the beautiful inner city area of Copenhagen.

The residency was part of the Berlinaut project and supported by The Danish Arts Agency and The Danish Embassy, Berlin.

WALL 2 WALL is supported by Copenhagen International Theatre (KIT), The Danish Arts Agency and Sophiensaele.
